Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how BofBot ("BofBot," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, desktop application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Section 1 describes information collected through our website and desktop application. For information specific to the BofBot iOS app, see Section 2.
Account information. When you register or log in, we collect your email address and credentials (e.g., password hash) necessary to operate your account.
Payment information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card number on our servers. Stripe collects and processes card details according to its own privacy policy. We may receive limited billing metadata from Stripe (such as subscription status, customer ID, and last four digits of a card) to manage your account.
Usage and technical data. We may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser or app version, device type, and log data when you use our website or authenticate — for example, to secure accounts, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Video content. The BofBot desktop application processes your video files on your computer. We do not upload your source videos to our servers for processing in the standard desktop workflow. We may still process limited personal data you send to our servers (such as account and subscription verification) as described below.
2. BofBot iOS App
The BofBot iOS app is a tool for processing your own videos on your iPhone. It operates fully on-device:
- Videos. We do not collect, transmit, or store your videos. All processing happens locally on your device.
- No backend for user data. The iOS app does not use a BofBot server or database to store your account or content.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple in Settings, we receive a stable anonymous user identifier from Apple, used only to greet you by name within the app. Sign in with Apple is not required to use any feature of the app, including subscriptions. We do not receive your real name or email unless you choose to share them.
- Subscriptions. Managed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We never see your payment information. Apple provides us with on-device receipt data containing a transaction ID and product identifier — used only to verify your active subscription status. This data does not contain your name, email, or payment details.
- Camera Roll access. With your permission, the app reads the videos you select and writes processed videos back. Access is limited to what you explicitly select.
- No third-party analytics, ad networks, or trackers.
You may sign out, uninstall the app, or revoke permissions at any time via iOS Settings.
